Another Poetry Friend Gone
This year has been one of many passings and transitions. Anne Silver, another fine poet in the Los Angeles poetry scene and close acquaintance of mine, passed away last week — complications of cancer.
A handwriting analyst by profession, Anne was a talented and energetic poet. Her writing was full of life and verve — it was funny – despite its explorations of human folly and foibles, herself and her past loves. It was accessible and beautiful. And a remarkable thing — she was well-published and well-liked, a balance that is hard to pull off when you’re talented. She will be missed.
Her website with information about her book, Bare Root, can be found here.
